Lacey’s Breast Cancer Fund

Donation protected
My younger sister, Lacey, was just recently diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative breast cancer after finding a lump in her breast at the young age of 30 years old.

Lacey’s disease was caught early, but triple negative breast cancer is a beast. It’s in fact the most aggressive of the breast cancer subtypes, but when caught early enough; treatable and curable.

Lacey will be undergoing both chemotherapy and surgery where she’ll be having a bilateral double mastectomy to remove the breast tissue. This process alone can take 5-7 months where she will not be able to steadily work her full time position and will most likely need to take a leave of absence until fully recovered. Along with that, she will meet and be expected to pay her out of pocket maximum within just a few months due to all the major components taking place within this grueling process. Lastly - let’s not forget about the hardship of being diagnosed with breast cancer at such a young age prior to starting a family of your own. Within the next week, Lacey will undergo fertility treatments in order to preserve her eggs, which can give her a fighting chance at motherhood in the future - something she has always envisioned for herself. Chemotherapy is potent enough where it has the ability to permanently damage one’s ovaries, which is why freezing your eggs is an important and crucial step in this process.

It will be a tough year for Lacey and all who love her, and although we can’t help her with the physical, mental, and emotional hardship of this diagnosis, I’m asking for everyone to pull together to help with the financial hardship of it all which will lessen the burden in so many ways - especially peace of mind. The last thing anyone in this position should be worrying about is finances, so thank you in advance for donating and supporting our family through this very difficult time.

Below are the estimated costs of everything:

Fertility treatments along with the egg retrieval surgery can be anywhere between 8-10k for a breast cancer patient.

Potential leave of absence and out of pocket maximum can range anywhere between 10-12k for the year.

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we embark on another very triggering breast cancer journey, following my own back in 2019. It hasn’t been the easiest decade for our family, but we have resilience in our veins and Lacey will absolutely make it through this! I love you Lacey, and I know that sea turtle we swam with in Belize will bring us all the positive energy!
