LAC classes

Hi everyone!

For those who may not know what I do: I am a social worker working with young men and
women in a juvenile facility.  I have truly loved my experience there and am continuing to
grow in my clinical competency, professional
goals, and career. I graduated with my masters in Social Work in 2018 and I am excited that
within one more year I will officially have my
License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW)! For
me it doesn’t stop at just my LCSW. I am
currently working towards becoming an
associate SOMB provider. My SOMB provider position allows me to work with offense
specific juveniles and become a member of the board. In addition, the purpose of this go fund me: I would like to receive an additional
license in drug & alcohol counseling (LAC)!
While working for the state my classes to
obtain this additional license were to be paid
for, however, with COVID-19 taking a large
chunk of government spending they are no
longer paying for these courses. Each course
tends to be around 140 dollars (9 courses
total) and any other left over money would be for my exam (250 dollars) at the end of my
courses. Drug and alcohol treatment tends to be a large portion of treatment that is needed for the youth I work with. Furthermore, with
COVID-19, there has been a tremendous
increase in drug and alcohol use for adults as well. By obtaining this license, it is my hope
that I can help make a difference in people’s
lives. Please help me in my goal to help those
struggling with drugs & alcohol and growth
within my professional development.
