Laauren and Cayden Tewell

As many of you know, Laauren and Lance are expecting their second child,  Cayden William In October.  His original due date was October 29th, but during one of her first ultrasounds in June, they discovered that Cayden has Gastroschisis.  This is where part of the intestines are growing outside his body.    Not the best place for them to be.  ☹️  They have already made 2 trips to The University of Washington and Children's Hospital for insight and a game plan for Caydens care.   Laauren and Lance are headed there again on Monday for 3 appointments to see how our little one is doing.    The treatment as of today (hopefully no change) is.... The Docotrs want Laauren to move to Seattle the last weekend in September, and be as close to the hospital as possible as they think Cayden will come early.  This seems to be the normal case for babies with this condition, and when she goes into labor, she will deliver at the University of Washington, then Cayden and Lance will go immediately by ambulance to Children's Hosptial where the Doctors will do, what is necessary.  Right now the hope is that Cayden will be growing to near term, with no strangulation of the intestine outside his body, and they will do a procedure where they use part of his umbilical cord to push and wrap it into place.  
Laauren is better at explaining it!  But in touching his intestine, it goes to sleep and then there are a whole host of problems associated with that.  It takes a few days for your tummy to awaken after being handled. So feeding will be a problem. 
Laauren and Cayden will probably be in the hospital for close to 2 months.☹️  The doctors are hoping for them to come home at Christmas or just before    We have set up this page for them, as the medical bills will be large. Even with insurance there is living expenses and travel for Lance and Bowen to go see Laauren while she waits, and then while Lance is there with Laauren after Cayden's birth and the weeks to follow.
