La Pampa: Short Film
Donation protected
Logline
After getting entangled in a small town love triangle, a boy's secret romance with another boy is brought to light when his childhood priest rats him out to his mother.
Why do we need your money?
After investing $35,000 USD of our own money into the production of the film, we’ve finished shooting…and gone broke. Now, with over seventeen hours of footage on our hands, we need your help to finish the job!
This money will fund the post-production & distribution of the film. We need an editor, colorist, sound designer, “scorer” (person who makes score), rock bands (to make the soundtrack), caffeine, therapists and so much more. Additionally, to get the film into festivals, we have to pay considerable entry fees which will also be covered by your donations.
Some Background
This film is the child of over a decade of marination, beginning when Lachlan McClellan (an American) met Máximo Gurban (an Argentine) at a Princeton robotics camp in 2014. The two reconnected over social media years later when they both had hit their heads too hard and left the lucrative world of robotics, destined for the lifelong non-profit that is making short films.
Lachlan visited Max in 2022 in Argentina during which the two took a trip out to the province of La Pampa. Inspired by the beautiful landscapes and good memories, La Pampa was born.
It took two years of writing the script - and making music videos to fund the film - until production finally began in November 2023. Led by Nicolás Medina at Nam Productions, ten days of shootings went by without a hitch (depending on whom you ask), with an eleventh day in New York City in late December, 2023.
The Future of La Pampa
The first goal of the short is to make a 2024/2025 festival run, premiering around the world at dozens of festivals (and, if you’re looking for a vacation, those who donate will receive invitations). La Pampa is also a proof-of-concept film for a larger feature film, whose plot will span two continents, growing the story in the short to new heights. We hope the attention generated from the short’s distribution will help us get this feature off the ground!
All donors will receive a special thanks in the credits!
