Funeral and Support for the Gonzalez Family

I am writing to you with a heavy heart and deep sadness. Armando, the sole provider of his 7 children and wife, the pillar of his community and church, and the most humble and serving person I have known, has lost his battle with cancer on June 25th, 2022. On behalf of his family, we are fundraising $50,000 to cover his funeral costs and, most importantly, to financially support his family while they learn to live with him only in spirit.

 

Armando is survived by the love of his life and his seven beautiful children. His eldest just graduated High School as class president and will attend UW Madison, his two high schoolers are confident, respectful, and intelligent young teenagers, and his youngest four are a lively, kind and generous bunch who love to play with Charlie the family dog. Armando was a loving and serving husband. In his final days, being too weak to write or communicate, he somehow found the strength to reach out to his wife for one last hug. Armando was a pillar of the community and its church: he sang and served for the church for 24 years, and he was a role model for coworkers, friends, nieces, nephews, and siblings. My favorite memories are Christmas eve when he would lead my aunts and a dozen children as they serenaded through the night to welcome Christmas day.

 

Armando was constantly worried and taking care of his family, so he worked until the end. As the sole provider for his family, his death is not only a devastating loss; his loss presents a critical financial emergency. We want to honor his life by supporting his family during this difficult time. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to cover the funeral costs and, most urgently, to help his family of eight with living expenses.

 

My aunt will only accept what is immediately necessary; she only recently accepted our offer to financially help after years of being his pillar as he courageously battled cancer. Their savings account has been drained. She will return to work, but during their time of grieving, we humbly ask for help.

 

All proceeds will go directly to my aunt to cover funeral costs and ensure their family will be cared for. It is not much, but it is urgently needed.

 

Please, we ask you to help this family with anything you may have to spare. Any help is welcome and goes directly to helping them with groceries, utility bills, school supplies, gas money, monthly expenses, and medical visits for her children. A Armando le sobrevive el amor de su vida y sus siete hermosos hijos.
