Since most drag queens around the world have been incapacitated since COVID19 took out the Bar and Restaurant industry, most of us have been struggling to find ways to make ends meet. We all know that all if not most of us are independent contractors and it is quite difficult to obtain any assistance financially other than doing virtual shows.
My name is Moni Stat, and I live in Los Angeles. After hearing so many of my friends and sisters going through such a hard time, I've decided to do my part to help create change. I've decided to create this fund to dole out money to drag queens in Southern California to help ease their burdens financially even if its not much. I've been blessed with so much in my life and I feel that I can help others and spread joy through this trying time.
The money raised will be distributed out in the form of funds and will be available to drag performers in southern california, regardless of gender, sex, and race. Priority will be given to drag queens working in the DTLA, WeHO, Long Beach and Orange County. The first phase of grants will be doled out after we meet half of the goal.
