Stem Cell Transplant

I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome 15 years ago it is an autoimmune disorder that makes my muscles contract constantly including lungs and bladder I was a Occupational Therapist up until 2 years ago when my health declined. See my Caringbridge.com page for more details. I tried everything. The Hematologist recommended a Stem Cell Transplant. After seeing several successes with my disease we made this decision. Chicago accepted me. It will be hard because I will be there for 6-8 weeks and they recommend a caregiver there with you. We have an 8 and 12 year old. My husband can't be there the whole time because they need a parent there. I want to be able to pay for my friend or family to be there because Chicago is expensive. Aetna denied my transplant. Medicare will cover but no travel expenses. I need friends and family there for support and assist in Chicago when discharged. I hate asking for help but was encouraged by friend. I still owe over a lot in medical expenses and will not get my Long Term Care Benefits for 5 months which really helps. Thank you for your support.
