Hayden's Birthday Wish

Donation protected
The other day my 8 year old son Hayden came to me with something big. He has a plan!! At school he overheard how sick children are and how they often have medical expenses that are very high.  So, after much thought (and Hayden has deep thoughts) he decided he wanted to raise money for  St. Jude Research Hospital.

We had many conversations about whether or not this was really something he wanted to do. I explained to him what it means to make a dontation at this level. How it can really benifit children, and their families in need. Also the personal growth and selflessness it takes to give to those in need. This made his heart soar.

As his mother I am thrilled that my little guy wants to do such a selfless thing for others. Not many 8 year olds (almost 9) would even have the capacity to understand the importance of giving at such a young age. I am one proud Mommy!

In the past I have worked around and with cancer patients. Cancer is something that is close to my heart, so I am just tickled that he wants to help these patients. I have seen and understand some of what the courageous, awesome people go through. I have gained many friends, and lost many friends to the "C" word. I from the bottom of my heart am so proud to have worked around, and taken care of the amazing patients!

Hayden wants to make sure that the money goes to children that are in our area, so all donations will be given to :

More about St. Jude----

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Ranked one of the best pediatric cancer hospitals in the country, St. Jude is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children.

How do your donations help?

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors, they have the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation.

How is St. Jude making a difference for sick children?

St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs they make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of more children.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened 50 years ago.

St. Jude is where doctors often send their toughest cases because St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for some of the most aggressive childhood cancers.

St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute.

In 2010, St. Jude embarked on an unprecedented effort to sequence the pediatric cancer genome. The sequencing of the complete cancerous and healthy genomes of 700 childhood cancer patients resulted in ground&endashbreaking discoveries in a number of aggressive childhood cancers, prompting TIME magazine to recognize the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project as one of the top 100 new scientific discoveries in 2013.

How are donations used?

St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
It costs $2 million a day to operate St. Jude, which is primarily covered by individual contributions.

Here is what donations can help with--

$100- helps provide 2 platelet count tests

$500-provide 2 transfusions of Red Blood Cells

$750-half a day of chemotherapy

$1000-two days of oxygen

$5000- a a day of outpatient care

We have set Hayden's goal at $1000.00 !! He would be so thrilled to meet his goal and even more!!

Family and friends please, please help my little guy to reach his goal! This is such a good cause that will not go unappreciated. A gift like this could help a family so much.

Any donation $1 or more would help. Please consider helping make my little man's birthday wish come true... To help those in need.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and consider our cause.  If you have any question please ask. I will be glad to answer anything I can.
