Ciao a tutti, siamo Angela Pepi e Ilaria Marcelli, registe e attrici dello spettacolo L'Orando in un atto furioso. L'Orlando è uno spettacolo per ragazzi nato a Grosseto nel 2017 e replicato in varie scuole in tutta Italia. A settembre è stato selezionato per essere rappresentato all'interno di In Scena! Italian Theater Festival di New York. Si tratta di un festival che vuole rendere omaggio alla letteratura italiana e promuovere il nostro teatro in America. Oltre a noi sono state selezionate altre 11 compagnie come rappresentanti della nostra cultura oltreoceano. Lo spettacolo è un riadattamento dell'opera di Ariosto al cui centro c'è la storia di Orlando e del suo amore folle e disperato per Angelica. L'opera originale, composta da 46 canti in versi, è stata completamente riscritta in dialoghi dal nostro sceneggiatore Michele Gandolfi che ha creato una pièce divertente ed ironica, ma al tempo stesso toccante e poetica.
Soggiorneremo a New York per due settimane dal 29 aprile al 13 maggio 2019, l'intera durata del Festival, in cui rappresenteremo lo spettacolo in tutti e cinque i distretti della città. Il Festival non prevede un rimborso spese per le compagnie invitate, per cui, per fare fronte alle spese di viaggio e alloggio per tutti gli otto artisti che partecipano al nostro progetto, avremo bisogno di raccogliere 7000 euro. Saremo felici di poterci sdebitare ringraziando tramite i canali ufficiali che ci saranno offerti dal festival e i nostri canali social tutti coloro che ci aiuteranno a realizzare questo progetto.

Hi everyone, we are Angela Pepi and Ilaria Marcelli, directors and actresses of the play L'Orando in un atto furioso. L'Orlando is a youth theatre play born in Grosseto in 2017 and replicated in several schools whole over Italy. In September it has been selected to be staged at the In Scena! Italian Theater Festival of New York. It is a festival that intends to pay homage to the Italian literature and promote our theatre in the USA. Together with us, other 11 companies have been selected as overseas representatives of our culture. The play is an adaptation of Ludovico Ariosto's masterpiece about Orlando's desperate and foolish love for Angelica. The original poem made of 46 ottava rima cantos has been completely rewritten in dialogues by our scriptwriter Michele Gandolfi who has created a pièce that is funny and ironic, but at the same time poetic and moving.
We will stay in New York for the two weeks of the Festival from the 29th of April to the 13th of May 2019 while we are going to stage our play in all the five districts of New York City. Since the Festival does not provide an expenses reimbursement for the guest companies, in order to be able to cover the flights and stays expenses for all the eight artists that will take part in our project, we need to collect 7000 euros. We will be happy to thank all the people that will help us realising this project through the official channels offered by the Festival and our social media.
