Willa’s Surgery

For anyone that doesn’t know already, Willa was hit by a car on Thursday. Her Mom is a single parent, who works for the Mobile county Sheriffs Department as an investigator as well as serves on the Mounted Unit.  She has been training Willa to be a search and rescue dog, so Willa will be able to serve with her. She has several pelvic fractures and some dislocations. She has tried to do medical management and cage rest, but her pain level has not been able to be controlled. She has just been checked into MedVet where she will be treated by a specialty surgeon to correct her fractures. Because this is a major orthopedic surgery that only a specialist can do, and involves several implants, it is a very expensive procedure. The estimated cost for her surgery is $2500-$3200. The good news is that the surgery will be very effective, and she should have almost a complete recovery.
