I would greatly appreciate your help in purchasing an insulin pump.
I have Type I diabetes, first diagnosed when I was an infant. This means my body won’t produce insulin. I regularly monitor my glucose (sugar) in my blood and inject insulin based on the reading.
Diabetes causes damage to the eyes, arteries, kidneys, nervous system and blood vessels. To date, my eyes have been affected (retinopathy), resulting in monthly injections into my eyes and a shunt. I have neuropathy and have recently had my gall bladder removed to decrease episodes of pancreatitis. Surgeries and vision issues have dramatically limited my number of work hours.
The good news is that I was recently approved for an insulin pump. The bad news is that medical costs and decreased work hours prevent me from meeting my $1300 out-of-pocket costs for the insulin pump.
Your contribution gives me an increased chance of managing my diabetes which will in turn help prevent further medical complications. Thanks for considering a contribution. Any amount is deeply appreciated.
