Hope for 2020
As we are all very much aware, 2020 is proving to be rough.
First we have covid19
Then small businesses everywhere were shut down and many can’t reopen. They went bankrupt.
Then the murder hornets, now the mutant ticks from Russia.
The protesting daily where more businesses have been looted or burned.
What does this have to do with us?
Well, many people are reaching out because they can no longer care for pets and they don’t want them to go to kill shelters. We want to help but, we are all volunteers. We don’t get paid. Often we put in what little money we do haveinto the rescue. The reason we are able to helpdogs is because of YOU. Your donations, your support. We need it.
Right now we have a lawsuit against a veterinary facility that padded our bill and was taking donations over the phone for our rescue and putting them under an employees name. This was only discovered because one of our donors does auditing and asked for a receipt where she saw the funds she donated to CCRS went into someone else’s account. We will definitely make all of this public information as it plays out in court. Yes, we are just as shocked as you are that a veterinarian’s office could take rescue funds and pad bills. It’s wrong. Very wrong.
So, on top of trying to help dogs we have also spent money having an attorney helping us to get justice and make sure this never happens again to anyone. Much more to this story that will shock you.
We need to raise funds immediately. We have not done any large fundraising knowing so many people are hurting financially right now but, now we need the help so we can continue helping the chows we are asked daily to help.
