Kylie and Lila

As many of you know, Kylie developed an extreme form of preeclampsia known as HELLP Syndrome.  This was a life threatening condition for both Kylie and little Lila.  After rounds of steroids and a lot of magnesium, the doctors were hopeful Kylie could carry Lila for several weeks more to improve her outcome.

Unfortunately, things changed quickly and both Kylie and Lila were deteriorating.  On June 26th at about 5pm the decision was made to deliver Lila at just 23w6d gestation, as it would give both of them their best chance.  Lila came into this world at just 360g, roughly 12 ounces, but she was feisty from the get go.  She was breathing on her own, though she did require intubation to keep her tiny body from having to work too hard.

Delivery should have helped her condition, however Kylie's health has been fluctuating and she has progressed to eclampsia.

With all that is going on, we do not think expenses should be on the minds of Kylie, Tim, or the rest of the family.  They have long journeys ahead of them, and their focus should be on healing.  We are hoping to raise money to help offset the medical expenses, unpaid leave, and any other financial obligations that may arise.
