Kyler's Medical Fund

Two years ago, I moved to Charleston, WV from Washington, D.C. After arriving, I met Jessica White, her husband Ben, and their 6 month old (at the time) son Kyler. We instantly hit it off as her son was the same age as my daughter. She helped me settle in and my family quickly grew close to her family.

This past week, Kyler had his 2 ½ year wellness checkup where the doctor felt something unusual in his belly area. After running numerous tests, the doctor’s diagnosed him as having cancer. While the type of cancer has not yet been determined, they did identify the cancer resided on his kidney. As a result, Kyler underwent a major operation this past Friday and had his kidney removed. He is currently in the hospital recovering, and is expected to begin chemotherapy within the next week.

As you can imagine, a surgery of that magnitude followed by months of chemotherapy is extremely expensive. Ben and Jessica, Kyler’s parents, have shown so much strength and courage over this past week. As they focus on their 2 year old son during this emotional time, please help me by donating to help relieve some of Kyler’s doctors’ bills, and take some of the financial burden from this family. So often we watch the St. Jude’s commercials and our hearts melt to see children in so much pain. This family is currently living that reality. If you are able, please find in your heart to donate. Ben and Jessica also have a two month old son. Your donation will also help them get back precious time to spend with their baby by not having to cook dinners every night, and in some instances, find infant care for their son while tending to Kyler.

In addition to your giving, we ask for your prayers as we watch God perform a miracle on Kyler’s behalf (Matthew 18:20). We believe Kyler is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and are in expectation of nothing but good reports (Philippians 4:8) from the doctors.
