Kyle McDonald Recovery Fund

Kyle McDonald was in a head on collision with a drunk driver on his way to work on the morning of February 16th, 2018. Incredibly, he was able to swerve at the very last minute which directed the impact more heavily to the passenger side of his vehicle. Despite his maneuver, Kyle still sustained substantial injuries. Doctors expect Kyle will have to have multiple surgeries over the next couple of months in order to restore his body to where it once was.

Kyle is a 9th term electrical apprentice. The apprenticeship program, for those that don’t know, offers the opportunity to learn the trade while working in the field part time and attending school part time. Often, an apprentice can take a term “off” and work entirely in the field. But Kyle has been going to school back-to-back terms in order to advance the timeline to complete his apprenticeship and become a licensed electrician.

Since Kyle cannot return to work for at least 12 weeks, I am organizing a sort of “pass-the-hat” opportunity amongst his friends, family and co-workers to help offset the loss in income. Kyle and his wife Steph are expecting their first child this June and I think it’s important that Kyle have the opportunity to heal without stressing about the financial burden of time lost when he’s preparing to become a new daddy.

All funds are going directly to Kyle & Steph McDonald.
