Are you a fan of Twin Peaks? Were you shocked and appalled when Kyle MacLachlan’s portrayal of at least 4 different characters in Twin Peaks Season 3 lost to Ewan McGregor’s mere 2 at the 75th Golden Globe Awards? Were you even more shocked and appalled that the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences snubbed all of the actors in Twin Peaks, the most egregious snub of all being Kyle MacLachlan?! I’ll bet this clear injustice left you wishing you could find Kettle Jeffries and have him send you back in time to right this wrong and give Kyle his due. Well now you can! Ok, not the Kettle Jeffries/going back in time part, but I digress.
Introducing the first ever Maggy Award! The Maggy Award will be a custom-made golden statuette of the Log Lady Margaret Lanterman with angel wings holding her log up to the sky. The statuette will be mounted on a (likely marble) trophy base (5" diameter, 2" height) and will be awarded to the actor whose outstanding performances in the groundbreaking 3rd season of Twin Peaks have made, and will undoubtedly continue to make for years to come, an indelible impact on television viewers as well as the television industry as a whole: Kyle MacLachlan.
The Maggy statuette will be cast in pewter and plated in gold. The statuette’s dimensions will be about 15 inches total including the base. And the cost for the detailed figure with log sculpting fee + mold fee + the fee to cast in pewter plate in gold + a marble base and engraving will come to around $6500. Together we can reach this goal easily! AND BONUS: should we raise any extra money above the cost of the award, all the extra money will be donated, in Kyle’s name with his approval, to a New York City charity that Kyle and his wife are passionate about: God’s Love We Deliver https://www.glwd.org/ .
The sooner we reach our goal the sooner we can present this award to Kyle and show him just how much we appreciate all that he gave in Season 3 of Twin Peaks.
With how present Kyle is on social media, it might be tough to completely keep him in the dark, but let's do what we can to keep him from knowing that we are doing this. ;-)
