Stolen bikes Nola funding.

Donation protected
Stolen bikes Nola has been recovering and reuniting owners with their bikes in the Metro Orleans area for over 8 years, and we appreciate the tremendous support from the community. Over 1100 bikes have been recovered and returned to their owners thanks to your feedback and the tireless work of our volunteers.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a dedicated mission to reunite owners with their lost/stolen bicycles. In addition, we are committed to educating the community about bike safety and sharing the road with drivers as well as advocating for better bike laws and more bike lanes in and around the city so that cyclists can travel the area safely. Our group is comprised of 100% volunteers who have a passion for the cycling community and a deep love for this historic home of ours. Whether your bike is your main source of transportation, part of your fitness program, or how you relax and enjoy the outdoors, we understand its inherent value and the importance of keeping it (and YOU) safe.

While we operate on a volunteer basis, there are still expenses required to make bike recovery possible. We want to continue to add value to our community with our current mission and activities and to do even more to educate, protect, and advocate the life of the cyclist. We need your continued strong support in whatever way you can share it to keep our efforts moving forward. If you're interested in becoming part of our recovery team, we can always use extra eyes and ears in the area. If you're not able to volunteer your time, please consider a kind donation.

We still need help and funding for :
Gas : I know that sounds ironic but we do search for and transport bikes by vehicle. Sometimes that adds up.
Tools : Yes grinders and bolt cutters get dull fast. Sometimes the same tools used for bike theft are needed to bring the stolen bike back home.
Advertising : So many people still don't know who we are and what we do.
Ghost bikes: Yes we make them. And we hope we never have to again every time we do one.
Misc: Annual fees and fundraising expenses

On the horizon:
Bike locks are the #1 priority when it comes to keeping your bicycle safe. Making it possible for those who can't afford them to have access to effective bike locks has always been a goal for us. The ability to revive a full-time bike co-op in New Orleans creates so many more opportunities for those who like to ride. We would also love to partner with other non-profit organizations in the area to use our collective resources and have a greater impact on the improvement of bicycle safety in and around the Metro area. We can do all these great things and so much more with your continued support. Thank you for keeping us going!
