Urgent help for shipibo communities in Amazon

Donation protected
Since COVID-19 hit hard the Peruvian Amazon, in the region of Pucallpa, around the Ucayali river many indigenous people have fallen ill. Many villages scattered around the river (like Limongema, Baranca, Santa Isabel, San Juan etc)  are struggling for the bare necessity to survive. With the strict military - enforced lock down that started in April and is still on going until end of June, people have no means to make money as they all relay on selling food or handcrafts in the main city. In the absence of any welfare or any economic support from the government, this people have less resources to survive than ever.  It is not only food that is lacking but medical supplies too. COVID and DENGEE have hit hard the communities and even if the shipibo communities are treating this with natural remedies (plant from the jungle like Ajosaca, Ajosquiro, Mokura, Lemons, Ginger)  in cases of acute fever and pain pharmaceutical supplements are lacking. Even soap, alcohol, paper, masks, gels are non-existent.

With no means to survive in the cities, with no transport what so ever, Peruvians have now started walking hundreds of kilometres by foot, with small kids, fleeing the cities and hoping that they will get to the jungle where at least they can be reunited with their families and maybe survive with what jungle has to offer (fish and plantains). They are now dying of hunger as the economy has collapsed entirely.

The situation is URGENT and anything that you could donate would be hugely appreciated as for sure will make a very big difference in the lives of this people. With the money we will raise we want to buy all the necessities for survival (rice, flour, sugar, pasta, grains, seeds, oil, potato) and medical supply and use our own transport on the river to go and deliver this to the most isolated villages, to the most affected communities and hoping that we will save as many families as we can. We have already started this in Limongema where we have given 23 families the basic supplies to survive with less than 300$. Every little counts here in Peru, a family could survive with as little as 10 $ a month.

Please help me spread this and i want to thank you for your generosity in this difficult times.

UNITED WE ARE STRONGER. We all can contribute a little to make a massive difference.
