Help rebuild a life after a fire

Donation protected

Dove and Deanna have lost everything in a house fire on Thursday July 11th.

Deanna, after hearing the smoke alarm go off went to investigate, she was burned pretty badly across most of her face, and a few spots on her foot.

After patting out the fire on her face she went back to save her doggo Dylan and then went through the apartment building banging on doors to make sure everyone was okay because "I didn't want anyone else to get burned."

She was taken to Johns Hopkins University Burn Center and received treatment, including removing a portion of her skin across her forehead, eyelids, nose and cheeks to allow fresh skin to grow (hopefully without scarring) - they kept her overnight for observation after having some concerns with her breathing and smoke inhalation.

Deanna was released from the hospital and will have follow up appointments at the burn center etc.

Through it all she has been unbelievably brave and has made me so very proud.

Although most of their immediate needs have been met, they still will need help in rebuilding their lives.

Including getting an apartment (first months rent and security deposit) and at least a bit of help covering the basics like beds and linens etc.

I hope that you will find it in your heart to give if you can; we truly appreciate it.
