Kutztown PD - No Shave November
Donation protected
The Kutztown Police Department is participating in “No-Shave November.” Over the next month you will see several of members of the department sporting facial hair with the intent to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.
In addition to promoting awareness, our goal is to raise funds to help defray medical costs for two brave young people who are battling cancer.
Niki Nolte is a freshman at Penn State University. Niki was first diagnosed with primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma during her junior year of high school at Kutztown High School. At the start of her senior year she was cancer-free. Shortly after celebrating a year of being cancer-free, Niki was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a form of cancer that came as a result of her previous treatment for lymphoma.
Anthony Myers is a 16 year old sophomore at Berks Catholic. In mid-October Anthony suffered a seizure and was rushed to the hospital where an MRI revealed he had a tumor. Anthony has been diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma, a rare cancerous brain tumor.
We ask the public to join us by stowing the razor for the month of November and/or at very least spark conversations with your family members and friends about cancer awareness.
All donations will be forwarded to the families of Niki and Anthony!
