During Thanksgiving break of Alessandra's senior year (2018) she began having prolonged headaches. We made an appointment with her doctor who discovered that Lizzy's blood pressure was 254/ 153. Alessandra was immediately transported and admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with complete  renal failure... both of her kidneys had failed. After several months of tests and hospital visits doctors still do not understand what caused Alessandra's kidneys to fail. She now recieves dialysis three days a week, and takes several drugs to help control her blood pressure. Recently Alessandra's vision has deteriorated signifigantly. Doctors hypothesize that this is due to her high blood pressure, but as with her kidneys, no one is certain. Alessandra will require a kidney transplant, but it is a slow and complicated process made more difficult by her lack of diagnosis.
Adjusting to Alessandra's sudden illness has been difficult in many, many ways, and several of you have approached to ask how you can help. First of all, if you are a pray-er we ask for your prayer. Then, if you would like to give financially please give here. Your gifts will help with medical costs as well as related things like medical-related travel and hospital stays, low vision items for Lizzy, extra childcare for our younger children, and help with loss of income from missed work.
We cannot emphasize enough how thankful we are for the support from friends and family and for the indirect support from their friends and family. We have never felt more loved.

Thank you to all of you helpers, and God bless you.
