Helping Krissy reclaim her life

In June of last year my sister, Krissy, went to the emergency room and life hasn't been the same since. She went in for her hips and it turned out to be her spine that was causing all of the problems.  Krissy had spinal surgery and was on her way, or so we thought.  After leaving the hospital she went into rehab for recovery. While there she had a setback and has been recovering mostly at home since. 

Krissy had been moving along with her new normal until January, when I brought my boys to see her for a surprise weekend. The first day we were there we got into a car accident which set her back to the very beginning.  

During all of this time she has been going to multiple doctors appointments, physical therapy appointments and has been unable to work or perform what we would call "normal" life functions...like making dinner, cleaning the house, going to a grocery store, perusing Target, and going to her boys hockey games.  My brother-in-law, Scott, has been doing what he can to keep the family running, both physically and financially, while Krissy is recovering. Going from a two income household to one has taken its toll on the family, along with all of the extra medical expenses and everything that goes with it: gas to appointments, food, restructured wardrobe and bathroom that is accessible for Krissy, etc. 

At this point in her adventure she is making her way to the Mayo Clinic. We are hoping that they will be able to help her gain a better quality of life than the one she has been living for this past year. 

The money that is being collected will help her through all of this.  She is in need of transportation to the Mayo Clinic from St. Louis and back again. She will be staying at a hotel while she is in Rochester seeing the doctors.  And then of course there is the normal day to day necessities for her while she is there and for her boys back home.  Any extra moneys will be for them to pay bills and make up for her lost income.

Her appointment is this month...please keep Krissy, her boys and these Doctors' in your prayers that they will be able to help her and her family get back to living a full life together!
