Hello!
My name is Kristina Hay and I am a Norwegian modern dancer and performance artist, working in the eclectic world of dance. Since graduating from London Studio Centre in 2015, I have worked with international modern, contemporary and cross-disiplinary choreographers within Norway, UK and Europe.
Now I have received a unique opportunity!
I'VE BEEN INVITED TO COLLABORATE WITH NYC BASED PERFOMANCE COLLECTIVE: SAME AS SISTER TO PERFORM IN A COMMISSION FOR DANSPACE PROJECT'S PLATFORM 2018 -
DANCING PLATFORM PRAYING GROUNDS: BLACKNESS, CHURCHES, AND DOWNTOWN DANCE THIS MARCH 2018!
Same As Sister (S.A.S) was founded in 2013 by choreographers Briana Brown-Tipley and Hilary Brown. Their cross-disciplinary works have been presented at Centra D'Art Marney Art Centre (Fr), Movement Research at Judson church, BRIC ARTS | Media House New York Live Arts (US) among other venues.

I am applying for a 01 (ARTIST) Visa to make this opportunity a reality and explore further collaborations. In other words, this process ensures my legal right to work, perform and create in the US.
I am therefore humbly reaching out to all supporters of the arts to please help me raise the remaining $3750 (30 000 norwegian kroner). Every contribution will participate in making a dream into reality and would be a personal milestone in my life as a dance artist.
Your contribution would go towards: lawyer fees ($4000) and a filing fee ($450), hopefully before March 2018. I would be immensely grateful for any donation or support.
I know that we are living in incredibly tumultuous times and we are being asked to contribute to people and organizations striving to protect human rights, democratic institutions, and our planet. My hope is not to distract from these worthwhile causes but to humbly align my work with them. As an artist, I strive to engage with the political moment in my work, push boundaries that need pushing, and enrich the lives of audience members and colleagues. Thank you for your help in this.
