Kristian Atchley Cancer Fund

Hello my name is Katerina Atchley. I am Kristian’s sister-in-law. For those of you who don’t know Kristian well, she is an amazing wife and mother of three. She has spent the last 10 years working as a nurse and devoting herself to her growing family. She is shy, but a treasure to all who know her- especially my brother Joe. Sadly, Kristian has been fighting a quiet battle. 

In 2020 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Never wanting to be the center of attention, with the support of Joe, she quietly underwent a pretty rigorous set of treatments -radiation, chemo, and finally a double mastectomy. Thankfully she went into remission and was doing pretty well until this last Christmas.

Unfortunately, in January of this year, the cancer reared its ugly head again, and she was given a terminal diagnosis. She has been through more rounds of radiation, chemo, oral chemo, blood transfusions, liver biopsy, multiple ER visits, and is currently struggling with pneumonia. Her medical team has nothing left to offer.

But Kristian is not ready to give up, and neither are we. We have found a few more naturally minded clinics with very promising options. Their focus would be on helping Kristian to heal on a cellular level, using natural and alternative medicines, proven to help others in similar states and conditions. Unfortunately, Kristian and Joe’s Insurance will not cover any of these treatments which range from $60-100k (not including travel or other expenses).These would be completely out of pocket expenses on an already stressed situation. Kristian obviously had to leave her work, and Joe has been burning the candle at both ends trying to maintain his job, care for the kids, and be present during all of Krisitan’s care.

Kristian is the mother to three wonderful kids -Eli 8, Carys 6, and Julian 5. They love and need their mom, and the thought of losing Kristian for the rest of us is unbearable. At the risk of sounding clichè, she is literally the nicest human-being you have ever met. She has quietly suffered through years of poor health because she hasn’t wanted to burden others or make them feel bad on her account.

So with all of this in mind, please consider donating to her care, and helping to save one of the sweetest people alive today.
