Krista 2 get healthy at Mayo Clinic

Donation protected

I've been having having serious medical issues for 7-8 months. Short part is I was finally sent to the surgeon  who told me "I can't fix you, nobody in this state (New Mexico) can you need to go to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale AZ" I have a rare esphogical condition of esphogical spasms  and to add to it of course.. my esphogus is not straight its crooked. Medical terms; achalasia, nutcracker, diffuse esophageal spasm. They dont know why this happens, it comes from the central nervous system. This diagnosis came in addition to (at  that time)  my other already digestive system diagnoses of IBS, spastic colon, redundant colon, gerd and  hiatal hernia.  The surgeon went on to explain this is the reason I can't eat normally no matter what diet I follow. My espoghgus traps anything i eat and drink and causes debilitating chest pain and other symptoms. I have in the last few months gone down from a size 10 to wearing size 00 or 0. She sent the information to my gastrologist to do the refferals to mayo clinic with my records for the POEM (peroral endoscopic mytomy) procedure. This is a specialized new procedure done at the master level at Mayo clinic.  The surgeon said my case has much more going on because of my other non digestive diagnosises and especially my allergies. Both the surgeon and gastro dr sent me to my primary due to my loosing feeling in my extremities, Severe swelling in my extremities, chronic headaches, migraines, loss of balance and  falling. I also loose my voice (kinda sure thats appreciated at times)and have a chronic sore throat. This i went to the ent and he said this is common with my diagnosis due to nerve damage to my voice box, throat and sinuses. My primary sent me for a test which indicated heart failure, kidney failure, cardiology vascular diesease, low blood pressure (that we already knew) and my lungs don't  function right either. This got me a refferals to the  heart Institute here in NM for this next week. In all the tests done to eliminate they keep finding more and I keep hearing this is rare especially for your age. All the records already went and keep getting sent to mayo, who this week will call to set my evaluations/procedure dates. Given the diagnosis I will see more than just the esphogical specialist at Mayo he's reviewing the records and will have the schedulers call. In all of this I have been on intermittent FMLA unpaid from work. Due to the severe chest pains, vomitting( other gross things ) and the things mentioned above that really hits me hard in the paycheck. I don't know how long I will be at Mayo yet. I am going there by myself at this point for the evaluations but at certain points to be determined by the Dr I can't be alone after certain tests and procedures  (will figure that out as it happens). The insurance does not cover travel (I will fly because I often am not able to drive) or lodging. They are in network but I'm still responsible for deductibles and  co insurance payments. Currently I'm on 2 payment plans for medical bills (which keep mounting). I need to be Healthy! This is pure misery. I also have never been so scared. Every time the Dr's talk I just wanna scream shut up because I just cry. There's constant tests and appointments.  Kyle keeps asking me if I'm gonna die, he's watching me waste away and in agony constantly. My heart breaks for him he worries constantly about me, he's been through so much and fears of loosing mommy.  If you are to help in anyway I'm eternally grateful. And any little bit helps with the medical expenses trip (s) to Mayo clinic (estimated  $6,000 for travel, lodging, food) and my regular daily bills. When I go it will all be unpaid FMLA except for 1 day a pay period to cover my health insurance (that's 800.00 a month approx when I run out of days). They keep saying I have a long road ahead of me.  I have little time on the books I used all my time when I was out caring for grandma and then the days I was out sick before I got FMLA intermittent approval. I'm not eligible for partial short term disability until I'm out of work 28 consecutive days. Thank you for reading this. Please share and if able to donate thank you.
