Krislyn's Kingdom Journey Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected

On July 26, 2017, my daughter, Krislyn was at her desk working.  A headache came on quickly and she started missing the keys on her keyboard.  She attempted to go to the bathroom,  but ran into a wall instead.

She knew something was wrong, and it wasn't getting better.

An ambulance was called, and she was admitted into Medical City Dallas for testing.   Neurologists discovered an aggressive-growing mass on her brain.  She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, Stage 4 -  terminal brain cancer.  Surgery was scheduled immediately.

In less than a month, the mass had returned before radiation treatment could begin.  Same location, but larger.  Another surgery was required, this one at Parkland Hospital of Dallas.  Afterwards, 39 rounds of radiation were completed and immediately followed by chemotherapy treatments that continue to present.

The goal was to always keep the cancer corralled and maintain quality of life, but after a year and a half of multiple chemo treatments (both oral and infusion), the tumor spread through the fluid around the brain and into the spinal fluid.  In April of this year, it was determined that the treatment was not working.  Parkland Oncology had exhausted all options.  We reached out to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital of Houston for an evaluation. She was accepted and is scheduled to undergo testing and assessment the week of May 14th.  In the meantime, the swelling has been problematic. Kryslyn has been rushed to the hospital twice and is currently at Charlton Methodist Hospital of Dallas.

Throughout this process, there has been no insurance to assist with medical expenses.   Because of her disability she was denied Medicaid, and she is too young for Medicare.  Once her new treatment plan has been determined  by MD Anderson, the expense for wheelchair-accessible transportation to and from Houston will be significant.  There will also be costs incurred for wheelchair-accessible lodging  as treatment would be administered on an out-patient basis.

Your financial support will assist with:
~existing and future medical costs
~housing and transportation to Houston for assessment and treatment
~home care accommodations in between treatments

It's been almost two years, and although we are at a critical stage I never stopped trusting God's sovereignty and how He can use people like you to make the difference.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers, and thank you in advance for your support.
