Kris Watkin’s Medical/Recovery

A good friend to many of us, Kris Watkins, is in need of our help. Due to a motorcycle accident, he has been in the ICU since Monday morning with a broken shoulder blade/scapula, broken ribs, an arm splinted and full of metal plates, and a gash running from his ankle to his knee that was stitched shut, re-opened for cleaning, and stitched back together again. His bike is gone.

He is conscious but very disoriented and is being monitored closely by around-the-clock trauma staff.

As I feel most of us are well aware, this world is not kind when it comes to medical financials. As they are caring for him and saving his life, the hospital is also keeping a close tally on every bandage, every IV, every minute spent in Intensive Care. We are currently unaware of the exact pricing, but several surgeries and almost a week in ICU—well, it’s gonna hurt. 

I convinced Kris to let me create this gofundme because I believe in our community. Denton is a small town with big heart. We can come together in a big way to support the ones we love, and there are many of us who care deeply for Kris. If enough of us pitch in, maybe we can make this accident hurt a little less.
