Miss Michigan USA

Hello! 

My name is Mikaela Higgins and I am from Lansing, MI. Recently, I have been invited to compete in the Miss USA State Preliminary Competition for the state of Michigan as Miss Lansing USA! While at the state preliminary competition, I will have the opportunity to be chosen as Michigan's representative for the Miss USA National Pageant. 

As some of you know, I competed in Miss Wisconsin in 2013 and took home the titles of Best Evening Gown and Miss Congeniality. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I am  working relentlessly
towards my dream of Miss USA every day in my social, personal and professional life. This is an opportunity to be involved in a program that emphasizes a 68-year tradition of spotlighting positive role models for today's young women. As a professional and independent, young woman, I feel this program would help me reach other young women and help them live out their dreams. I want to show other young women how important self-love and self-respect is through strengthening our mental and physical health.
