Korematsu Middle School Student Clubs

My name is Jackson Lee, and I'm the Leadership teacher at Korematsu Middle School. The leadership class is the ASB (All Student Body) coordinator here at Korematsu. At Korematsu, our vision is to create an inclusive learning community where all students can thrive academically and personally. Our mission is to make student opportunities that promote academic and social-emotional well-being. The Leadership class aims to establish this through lunch and afterschool clubs here at Korematsu.

Here is a statement from our Student Club Coordinator in Leadership class.

"We know that students want to feel a part of a community at school outside of academics. Therefore, we are creating lunch and after-school clubs as a safe space for students to participate during lunch and select after-school times. Our objective here in Leadership at Korematsu is to create extracurricular options for all students. We hope that this helps our students feel more comfortable at school while also ensuring that there are important lessons to learn in this club, such as teamwork and communication when interacting with others and completing school work on time. We only ask of you, the Korematsu community, that you help fund us so we can create environments like this" - Emmett K.

This year, our school's budget has shrunk by a significant amount, and some necessities for teachers, such as paper, have become a scarce resource. As such, creating and supporting student clubs through the school budget is not an option. Your donations will go into ASB funds at Korematsu. The Leadership class will manage these funds as we learn about budgeting and resource management. The objective of these funds will be to meet our vision and mission of creating an inclusive environment for all students here at Korematsu. Please help us help the kids of our community here at Korematsu Middle School.
