Kolton's Krew And His Family In Blue

Many times in our lives, we see and hear of families facing hard times, and we don't know what we can do to help, and our words of comfort just don't feel like enough.   

One of our Blue Families have been so strong in their fight to help their son.  Kevin and Ashley Witte have utilized sick leave and vacation time to be with Kolton as much as possible throughout his life and history of epileptic seizures.   Kolton, 15, has a brain injury from birth that causes him to have seizures.  They have been drug resistant for almost 4 years.   In June of 2018, Kolton had part of his brain removed in hopes of relieving his seizures.  It has helped, but not enough. The doctors cannot remove the whole area that is causing the seizures because it is where his speech and motor function is located.  In March of 2019 Kolton will get an RNS implant placed in his brain.  It can take 6 to 12 months to see improvement.  Kolton is currently having cluster seizures that do not stop with medications so he is hospitalized when these occur.  There are still many unknowns with Kolton's future with an upcoming surgery, and current and past hospital stays.   Ashley currently has 9 days of vacation time left.  Between the current situation with hospitalization along with the possibility of more hospitalizations before March, and surgery in March, her vacation days will diminish quickly,

 Kolton is currently on day 4 in the hospital with no resolution to his seizures and episodes which are continuous.  He is having difficulty walking, along with trying to get the recent rescue meds out of his system.  Kolton may continually be in and out of the hospital until his next surgery in March.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help the Wittes' with travel expenses, lodging,  anything that can help ease their minds so they can focus on Kolton's health and healing.   Any funds donated for this GoFundMe will be transferred to Kevin & Ashley Witte directly.
