Koda's Eye Surgeries

Over the past couple of weeks my Husky, Koda, has developed severe issues with his eyes.  It started with what we thought was an eye infection, which we later learned was the start of Koda's cataracts.  We also learned that at this point, Koda had less than 25% of his vision remaining.   
Koda was supposed to have cataract surgery in Grand Rapids this week, but when they were doing his check-up the Ophthalmologist found that both of his retinas are detaching.  This means that if they are not repaired right away, they will detach completely, causing Koda to go permanently blind.
Koda will be having surgery on both his cataracts, and his retinas on Friday, April 13, in Chicago.  The surgery will cost up to $14,000.  The donations I receive from this GoFundMe will be used toward the cost of Koda's surgery.  
For over a year, I had been asking for a dog that would be my own.  When my dad finally said yes, I knew right away that I wanted a husky because of their amazing personalities.  When I found a litter, my dad, little sister and I went to meet the puppies.  I had narrowed it down to two dogs, and spent more than an hour sitting on the kitchen floor playing with the puppies and getting to know them.  When I held Koda, he began sucking on my finger as if it was his bottle (his mom had passed away when she was giving birth to the pups, so they were bottle fed), and I knew right then he was the one.
Over the past year and a half, I have completely fallen in love with this dog.  He really is like my own child, and I would do anything for him.  He brightens my day, with the way he says good morning to me in his "husky talk," the way he greets me when I get home from work or school, and the noise he makes when he yawns.
