Koda Bear's Chance for a Better Life

Donation protected
Hi everyone! This is my rescue dog, Koda Bear, named perfectly after his name twin from the Disney movie Brother Bear. Koda is a 2 year old lab mix with a heart of gold. I rescued him a year ago from an abusive home that kicked him out. He had been living on the streets with no food, water, or shelter. When I got him he was skin and bones (44lbs at the time and 60lbs now) and so caked in mud and dirt that I thought he was a brown dog. He had so many worms and raw skin on his joints from sleeping on hard services.

It's been a year since I found him like that, and I am honestly so proud of him. It's taken him a long time to get to where he is now. He was never properly socialized with people, dogs, or other animals. This has made him really fearful and nervous. I want to give him the best life. There is a board  and train program in Upstate New York  (Upstate Canine Academy, look them up on Youtube and social media!) that has high reviews and they truly care about helping dogs with past traumas. This is the cost of their board and train program . I know that the chance opportunity to have him boarded and trained there will be a turning point in his life. I want him to be happy and carefree, and not always cowering and being terrified of new places and people.

Koda has changed my life for the better. When I met him, I was going through a very difficult time. He taught me how to take better care of myself by taking care of him. He has always given me unconditional love and affection. He makes me smile just thinking of him and he is truly an amazing creature. His goofy personality shines through in everything he does. He reminds me to enjoy life, and for that I am eternally grateful.

I am a senior Wildlife major in college at the University of Georgia, and this is my first dog. I am by no means a trainer and only want to give Koda the best. He is my best friend and he deserves a life exponentially greater than what he has received thus far. Being in college, I don't have a lot of money to spare. I am currently saving up right now, but any amount of donations would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can get him to be boarded and trained there within the next year.

Thank you so much for listening to our story! This is just the beginning!

All love,
Tameka
