Boone Police Officer Joe Knapp and his wife Annie are excitedly expecting their third son in May, however, preeclampsia has landed Annie in a Charlotte hospital at 24 weeks. Doctors hope to keep baby Charlie in utero as long as possible while keeping Annie healthy. Prayers for the health of both Annie and Charlie are coveted!
As you can imagine, this not only creates an emotional strain for the family but a heavy financial one as well. Insurance is a huge blessing and will help, but even 20% of one day in the hospital is expensive, not to mention lost work wages for both, and travel expenses for visits. Annie is expected to be in the hospital for a minimum of three weeks and baby Charlie will require a stay in NICU once he is born.
