What you see online is never fully what it seems. You see smiles and adventures, I see IV tubes and needles... and a lot of tears.
The diagnoses just keep coming. My heart is breaking.
Just had my 6th surgery in the last 20 months. - Dec. 15, 2016, removed tumor from ovary. - May 1, 2017, removed left ovary, chemo, 4 PICC lines (bc 2 ended up with clots), several months of infusions... - Stopped treatment then Jan 15, 2018 Total Hysterectomy - July 19, 2018 Double mastectomy. September 19, remove infected expander and cleaned out inflammation and infection.
My next surgery is December 5th.
I still have at least 3 surgeries to go.
I’m exhausted, hurting, unable to work much at all and most days feel like my body isn’t going to last. It’s become extremely difficult to survive. Y’all know, I’m a self-employed single mom... it’s just the two of us... I REALLY need to be well so I can work work work!! This is physically and mentally excruciating! I’m not good at being “still,” and unproductive and I’ve got a lot I need and want to be doing.
I’m grateful for those who continue to walk alongside us; some we have never met, and others have been introduced to because of such kindness, we wouldn’t have survived without you!
Send up a prayer, send some energy and light our way... we still have a long road ahead of us.
