Hey Friends and Family!
These are my sweet friends Amie and Shane Smith and their 3 beautiful girls, Allie, Savanna and Mia. This family is not only beautiful on the outside they are just as beautiful on the inside too!
Unfortunately, Shane suffers from a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. He has had a defibrillator and pacemaker implanted for the last 14 years, but his condition has deteriorated over the last year.
December 19th Shane was shocked 6 times by his defibrillator and again by the paramedics on the way to the hospital. He was in the hospital for 3 days with Doctors trying to figure out what was going on with his heart that was causing his defibrillator to fire so often. On January 20th Shane underwent heart surgery to have an ablation done. The Doctor was able to ablate an extra pathway on the right side of his heart, but too many different v-tachs were on the left side to ablate. Shane is being referred to a Doctor at UT Southwestern to see if he could be a possible candidate for a heart transplant and in the meantime they will continue to explore their remaining options.
I, along with John Zabojnik and Lesley Clayton would LOVE to try to raise as much money for our sweet friends to help with medical costs and living expenses until Shane is well enough to go back to work. They have incurred thousands of dollars in medical bills over the last few months and we would love to take just a little bit of stress off of them!
