Rachel Kling Medical Expenses

Hi everyone!

Our friend, the sensational Rachel Kling, first of her name, Mother of Demon-Cat, Breaker of Sobriety, is a fighter. She is one of the most giving, thoughtful, driven, brilliant humans out there. She juggles brand work at Angel’s Envy with her full time bartending job at Quill with leading the DC bartending community as Vice President of the DC Craft Bartenders Guild, and is truly dedicated to the community. She leaps at any opportunity to help people and further noble causes. If you’ve attended a charity fundraiser or cocktail competition in the last few years in DC, odds are you’ve seen her - cheering more loudly, hugging more fiercely, and supporting more voraciously than anyone else.

Now it’s our turn to support our friend.

As you may be aware, in May of this year Rachel began experiencing some health issues that prevent her from bartending. She did everything right by the book – went to the doctor, took the prescribed treatment, but as we know sometimes things happen beyond our control. She spent the summer recovering after surgery, working hard at her brand job at Angel’s Envy, working on events as Vice President for the DCCBG, and altering her lifestyle to stretch her savings until she could get back behind the stick. It’s been a long, tough summer for Rachel, and as one of her closest friends I’m continually amazed at the grace and fortitude she has exhibited in facing this obstacle.

Rachel is on the mend. Her condition has improved slowly over the last few months, but she still faces some daunting challenges before getting back behind the stick. And even though she has limited her spending since this happened, the bills are piling up and she may face another surgical procedure before she can work again.

Any assistance for Rachel is greatly appreciated. All funds donated here will go directly to paying rent, utilities, and medical bills for Rachel. She’s got that famous Kling stiff upper lip, and she’d never ask this herself, so I’m asking for her. Whether you know her as a fellow barfly, Runamok Squirrel, Cocktail Queen volunteer, Service Bar patron, or true friend: you know the type of person Rachel is, and you know she does not hesitate to support someone in need. I know how much this would mean to Rachel, and to everyone who has been there for her thus far: THANK YOU

Thank you so much for your support. Rachel’s on the road to recovery and with your help, will come through this even stronger.

Warmly,

Drea
