Mission Trip to Italy
Im excited to write you today to tell you that God has been moving in a lot of ways in my life lately. I have felt Him strongly calling me to follow Him to a program called YWAM. YWAM was founded by a man named Loren Cunningham in 1960 and has been sending out young people to spread the love of God to almost every country of the world. YWAM's mission and passion is to know God and make him known.Youth With a Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. I have the opportunity to follow this call to a Discipleship Training School in San Francisco, California from January to June of 2015. The school is a ministry that is passionate to see authentic communities centered on the presence of God raised up around the Earth, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through discipleship, sharing the unconditional love of Christ, and experiencing His grace.
During this time, I have be learning about God’s character and nature, His voice, growing in my knowledge of the gospel, worship & intercession, and living in God’s kingdom here and now. I knew that I was being called to YWAM and i knew God was telling me to take a leap of faith into something new that I was really nervous about but as soon as I walked into the doors of YWAM SF I felt the comfort of knowing that I was following what God called me to do. Another amazing part of this time in YWAM will be going to Italy for two months. We will be going to many urban cities such as Rome, Milan, Naples, and Sicily. In Italy we will be partnering with local churches, missionaries, and non-profits. Our efforts will be focused on service and ministry to Italy's immigrant population, as well as mentoring Italian youth, while being a support to the local workers in any way we can through service, friendship, and prayer.
