Kay Read – Go fund me Page
Many of you may know that a beautiful soul was taken from us this week, Kay Read Robinson tragically passed away, through as yet unknown causes, at the far too young age of 46. She leaves behind her husband Jason Read and her beautiful children Lauren, Dylan, Mackenna and Jude, who are simply devastated as you can imagine, as well as two young beautiful grandchildren.
Kay was a loving Mum, Wife and Nanna and deserved so much from life. Kay had overcome so many life challenges and tough times and you couldn’t find a stronger or more resilient woman. I and others admired her greatly and can only dream of having as much courage as she had. She had also been coping with the loss of her own father in this past year.
I was with Kay the day she found out that her second Grandchild was born and we rushed home just so she could get quickly back to see her. I will never forget the joy she had and it was a pleasure to see and yet brings me to tears right now remembering that moment and what it meant to her and that she will not get to see her, her grandson or children grow, to not kiss them and hug them when they need her.
We are encouraging anyone who knows how tough life can be and how tragic it is to lose a loved one to please help an amazing local family after the very sudden and sad loss of a devoted Mother, Wife, Sister, Daughter and Friend taken far too young, to please donate what you can afford towards assisting Jason and his kids get through the funeral and the next few months of a very tough time ahead for them.
Jason, as many of you will know is loved and known by so many and gives us all his wonderful energy and time and positivity. He gives his time to help others; he does charity discos and is there for his children always. I have had the pleasure, as many of you have, of being able to call him a best friend for the majority of my life and it now comes down to this moment to show just how much that friendship means to me and all of you. Jason supported me through my own father’s death over 20 years ago and if he could he would help me in any way he could as he would everyone he knows. Jason may be proud and will tell you all he will be fine, he always has a positive spin for everything but quite simply put Jason, I don’t care how many times you tell me or anyone you will be fine, you must please allow us to help you in this very special way and we will make this a tiny bit easier for you!
Let’s Pay It Forward to our local hero and give him and the kids the chance to honour Kay’s memory in the most respectful way they can without the worry of how he will do it, let’s ease his burden by us all giving a little bit. Jason works for himself and as many of you know when tragedy strikes, juggling the emotions and painful grief, the grief of his kids and attempting to go out and work full-time hours to make ends meet as well as suffering with his own illness is not going to be the easiest thing in the world. I would like to think that we have the empathy and compassion to lighten someone’s load when we can. If we all pull together we can make great things happen.
Jason will need to arrange the funeral, pay the bills, take care of the kids and honestly, as a Grief Counsellor myself, I not only know but encourage that he takes the time away from worrying about work so that he can literally be there for his kids as much as possible to help them get through the worst few months of their innocent lives and if that means him doing less work to do so then lets help make that happen.
Please feel free to give as little or as much as you can, from the bottom of my heart, Nikki’s and Leonie’s, we thank you in advance and I cannot wait to see how amazing you all are. As they say what you put out there into the world will come back to you tenfold.
I wanted to return to the UK for the funeral and pay my respects but considering all the logistics of my work and family life here I have decided that I’m going to start the ball rolling with donating part of the cost of the would have been air fare which will go to better use for Jason and the kids and I know that Kay will forgive me and understand and be grateful that her kids see that benefit. I’ve had my chat with her this morning and we agree, I love you Kay, I will never forget how special you were and heaven will shine a little brighter because of you.
