Please help McKinzy and her Family!

This is McKinzy McCall.  She is 6 years old and is the daughter of Tanjanik Thomas and DaMarcus McCall.  McKinzy is an identical twin to McKinly and a big sister to Ryleigh.

McKinzy started the school year in great health, but in early October her face began to swell, and she began to complain of being tired.  Shortly thereafter, her kidneys began to fail.  McKinzy was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome on October 6, 2014.

After receiving treatment at Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL McKinzy's parents learned that while her condition had improved, life as they knew it would drastically change.  She would now have to travel to Birmingham three times a week for dialysis treatments and would undergo 3 rounds of chemotherapy.

McKinzy's mom, Tanjanik, was forced to leave her job, in order to transport McKinzy back and forth from Tuscaloosa, AL to Birmingham, AL.  Sadly McKinzy, who was an excellent student, was now rarely able to attend school at Southview Elementary.

While she has had a few setbacks during her medical treatment, her spirit and shining personality have been phenomenal.  Even after losing her hair, and noticeable changes to her appearance (due to retaining fluid), she still would greet you with giggles and smiles.

Her latest setback however has proved to be much more devastating.  After complaining of a headache, McKinzy spiked a high fever.  She was transported back to Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL where they discovered Pneumonia in both lungs.  With her blood pressure low, and heart rate skyrocketing, Mckinzy stopped breathing for 12 minutes. After CPR she was resuscitated, and doctors learned she suffered a stroke.

She spent 10 days on life support, and 5 days unable to open her eyes.  She suffered significant brain damage on the left side of her brain.  She has lost the ability to talk and walk and also now has some vision impairment.

She is a fighter!!!!! She is slowly beginning the recovery process.  On January 20, 2015 she began to utter words and her amazing laugh and giggles returned.  She will now face physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy while still undergoing her dialysis treatments.

Her mother spends her days and nights at the hospital, while her dad works and takes care of her sisters.  The support of family and friends has been much appreciated, but this family needs financial help.  The travel expenses alone are staggering.

Please donate what you can to help this family!!!! McKinzy has been in the hospital since New Year's Day. God continues to show us daily miracles as her health improves.
