Save the LEG!!

Hey everyone! This fundraiser is for my dog, Cagney.  This dog is more than just a dog to us, she is a big part of our family and we love her so much.  Any amount donated would be appreciated!

Cagney is a 12 year old lab mix and she has gotten herself into a pickle! Last week Cagney broke her leg and was rushed to the animal hospital.  This pup has a broken bone and fragmented pieces of bone in her leg. Cagney will be needing surgery and is scheduled for this week.  The surgery will include a plate, pins and most likely an external fixator. This will range between $3,500-4,000. Without surgery her leg will eventually become infected. If anyone would like to donate to her surgery or pain medication costs I would be extremely grateful!!

Cagney and her sister Lacy were adopted for my father after he survived West Nile Virus and was left unable to walk without assistance. Cagney was used as his physical therapy dog and companion! Cagney was there for my father as my father recovered.  On a few occasions my father would loose his balance in the yard and Cagney would run to the door and bark and lead us to him. My father and Cagney spent many hours together working on his recovery walking and relaxing by the BBQ pit.  My father has since passed away and I would like to help Cagney the way she helped my father.  She really does mean a lot to our family.

Since her injury Cagney is adjusting to life without her leg while we wait for the operation date. She can get around the yard and can go up a couple of lower steps until we get a ramp for her to use.  She is an older dog but has adjusted quickly, the doctor thinks it’s great...but with a personality like hers I wasn’t expecting anything less!
