Kiveri, Greece storm relief
Donation protected
On September 29, 2018, the picturesque sea village of Kiveri, Greece, known for being one of the best and bluest of the Argolidikos Bay and attracts thousands of tourists each summer, suffered massive damage due to a violent and unexpected storm. Though other areas in the Argolida County were affected, the damage of the cyclone, based on its intensity and direction, seemed to cause more damage to the coastal village of Kiveri, which relies heavily on tourism for many of its businesses. The fury of the cyclone unexpectedly and quickly struck the village, causing raging waves and massive flooding, with boats slamming ashore and many beachside businesses suffering devastating damages. Additionally, the disasters stretched beyond the beach and throughout the municipality. There are disasters in the main roads that serve the local farmers, and hundreds of acres of oranges – ready for harvesting - are now severely damaged. The beautiful, generous people of this village are at a loss on how to financially restore this overwhelming damage. We are grateful that no one was killed, but are deeply saddened that this lovely village has experienced such a devastating impact to so many people who have now lost their income. As you can please help support this cause, your money will go directly to the municipal president who will ensure that all funds are allocated directly towards fixing these damages. We appreciate any support you can offer – efharisto!
