CATching up to a crazy kitten season..

Donation protected
This past summer has been incredibly rough.. We are a network of volunteer foster homes in the Baltimore metropolitan area. At any given time, we typically have about 50 cats in the Feline Rescue Association's adoption program.

Well, kitten season kitten like a ton of bricks this summer and we maxed out with over 200 cats and kittens spread across about 50 foster homes. It's nearly November and we are still at about 100 cats in our program!

Needless to say, caring for so many cats is very expensive.. Not only do you have to take basic supplies into account, but it is a rare cat who comes to us completely free of medical issues. Even "minor" issues -- such as a persistent cold or diarrhea, the need for dental work, blood and urine panels, allergic conditions -- really add up, but we have had multiple cats requiring trips to the ER and repeat vet visits for ongoing problems (for instance, a kitten with suspected Megacolon). Out of 200+ cats, even if only a small percentage have issues, it's a huge undertaking!

To make a long story short, we currently owe $2,000 to $3,000 each to our three major veterinary partners. There are not enough hours in the day to fundraise for each individual cat.. So I am asking your help now to help us play "CATch up" from a particularly brutal summer..

Please donate what you can and spread the word so that we can meet our financial obligations and keep ploughing forward to help more cats in need.

With your generosity and the support of our amazing volunteers, we can go on to help many more. Thank you!
