Recently our childhood friend KIRK VIA (pictured here in center) was diagnosed with RETROPERITONEAL SARCOMA, a rare and aggressive cancer. He underwent an excruciating surgery the first week of January to remove the large tumor growing in his abdomen. Unfortunately because of the close proximity to major blood vessels and organs they could not surgically remove it all. Last week he started an intensive 8 week (5 times a week) round of radiation treatments to help shrink the remaining tumors. After this period the doctors will then determine if chemo and/or another surgery will be needed. Although he has insurance to cover most of the surgery he has been unable to work and may not be able to return to work for many months. In addition, what savings he did have is nearly depleted as he has the expenses of truck payments, insurance and living expenses. This man is a hard working and kind man who has never relied on anyone, in fact he is the first one to lend a helping hand to his friends. During this time his friends have been rallying around him, cooking meals and driving him to his radiation treatments. We all marvel at his positive attitude and his incrediable resilience as he maneuvers through this valley he now finds himself in. We are asking our FB friends and family to donate anything they can to help him with his payments so he can concentrate on fighting this BEAST and start healing. Thank you!
