About us
The Kingsway Court Health & Wellbeing Centre is a community anchor organisation, registered as a Scottish charity and as a company limited by guarantee. We were established in 2001 as a grant funded, community led, community development centre situated in an area noted to be one of Scotland’s most deprived.
Our work focuses on improving social connections, increasing self-awareness and resilience and developing a sense of optimism, purpose and meaning. Our youth programme has been running for over 10 years and we have more than 120 young people registered to attend our 3 age appropriate clubs.
How can you help?
Our organisation relies on grant and trust funding to run groups and activities. Unfortunately, we have been unsuccessful in our recent funding application that would have supported youth work. Consequently we have had to suspend youth work. We require at least £2700, this money will allow us to continue the groups until March. This will give us time to find a new source of funding.
This wee ditty from the group sums up their feelings:
Here at the Kingsway Centre during the week nights,
The Kingsway Youth Group meet with all their might.
They love to come and ring at the doorbell,
Tumbling in to the Centre with a great big yell.
We all love the Youth Group they like to sing,
And great different personalities we all do bring.
Right now, we have no more money :-(
And all us children think this isn't funny!
So we're asking for you to help us all,
And give any donations big or small.
Thank you in advance we'd all like to say,
And welcome you to come visit us one day!
If you would like to see more fun pictures of some of the activities our young people take part in pop over to our facebook or Twitter pages.
THANK YOU!
