Kim's Uterine Cancer Battle

In September 2017 my daughter Kimberly Ramirez started to randomly pass out while having cramps. Visit after visit to the emergency room, we were told she is simply anemic. We followed the recommended protocols to help her anemia yet she continued to faint and have on-going issues.

After five trips to the emergency room we decided to see a Gynecologist. The doctor suggested a biopsy of the uterus which was later revealed to be Endometrial Uterine Cancer, a type of cancer that begins in the layer of cells in the lining of the uterus. Due to it being driven by hormones and estrogen, the cancer has the potential to spread to various organs and continue to return.

While she is currently taking Megestrol, she spent two days in recovery after her biopsy and has continued to take time off for tests and examines. Kim currently has three weeks of PTO/Paid-sick leave left which she will be using for CT scans and pathology tests before she will no longer receieve a pay check. This is because she is not currently eligible for short term disability at her place of employment. Because of this unexpected diagnosis, a financial burden has risen upon Kim causing fear of being able to pay rent and medical bills. She currently has $10,500 of medical bills from ER trips, tests and examinations with more coming from the surgeries she requires, which includes a $4500 upfront payment for a full hysterectomy. We will have a better understanding of potential chemotherapy treatments in the next few days.

Any donation amount would help support Kimberly in her battle with cancer by helping her continue to get medical treatment she needs as well as help her mind be at ease knowing after she uses her time off that she will still have money for rent and utilities.
