Kim Hattab

On December 14th, 2017, Kimberly Hattab, a beloved wife and mother, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Her fight started in late October when she was admitted to the hospital with unbearable back pain. Kim was eventually diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to the bone and liver. The cancer in her bones caused excruciating pain and left her unable to walk during the last three months of her life. In an effort to relieve some of her pain, she was given radiation therapy, but the relief was short lived. On November 24th, Kim was given the devastating news that her cancer was not curable and that she would only have two to three months to live. This shocking news did not phase her and she decided to live the last few weeks of her life happy and hopeful. After spending the month of November in the hospital, the decision was made to move Kim to Hospice House, in Williamsburg on December 5th. The care and support Kim and her family received from Hospice was wonderful. Sadly, Kim passed away just over a week later. Her family is thankful that she is no longer suffering – the constant pain from broken bones in her back and neck, caused by the cancer, was unbearable. Those close to her, knew Kim as a wonderful, hardworking, and loving woman who did not let anything in life get her down – even Cancer. Celebrating her life is what is most important to those she left behind, and cherishing all the wonderful memories of a life lost too soon. While her battle was small, the bills for her care are not. Her family has been left with the mounting bills from her hospital stay and funeral expenses. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and will help to ease their financial burden. Kim is survived by her husband of 22 years, Mohamed, and her only son, Zach (17).
