Katelyn Meyers Draper and Ashley Meyers Weigand tragically lost their Mother Kimberly Bloom Meyers this past weekend. Kimberly Lane Bloom Meyers, 50, currently of Idaho Falls, previously of Henrico, Virginia, passed away September 29, 2017, at her home.
Kim was born January 22, 1967, in Winchester, Virginia, to Elmo Lloyd Bloom and Dorothy Ann Bursey Bloom. She grew up and attended schools in Winchester and Richmond and graduated from Hermitage High School. She attended Brigham Young University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree. She also attended Averett University where she received her Master’s Degree in Education. She served as an E4 Specialist in the Army National Guard from 1988-1996.
Kim was blessed with two daughters, Ashley and Katelyn. She recently relocated to Idaho Falls where she worked as a 6th grade teacher at Temple View Elementary. She previously taught at Brookland Middle School in Richmond for fourteen years and was loved greatly by her students. She loved teaching.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, art and shopping. She lived for her daughters and grandson.
Kim is survived by her daughters, Ashley Anne (Jerry) Weigand of Henrico, VA, Katelyn Brooke (Travis) Draper of Rexburg, ID, and grandson, Bentley T Draper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Wayne and David Bloom.
Memorial Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at the LDS Church, 2500 Pump Road, Henrico, Virginia. Private family burial will be in the Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
