Kimberly Anderson’s Fight

Kim is 55 years old and is a beautiful, loyal, and special person. She underwent an emergency hysterectomy while visiting family in Honduras. She was subsequently diagnosed with cervical cancer. Kim is a hard-working woman with two jobs (one is taking care of my French Bulldog and others furry kids). She does not have medical insurance. She recently applied for Medicaid and disability and was denied coverage. She called several organizations searching for help to no avail. Kim saw a doctor at the Houston Medical Center which promised a discount along with a payment plan for treatment. She was beyond ecstatic. Unfortunately, once the doctor realized her biopsy was performed out of the country, he explained a biopsy performed in the US is necessary, which is cost prohibitive. Kim provided him with an English translation of the biopsy, blood tests, sonogram, EKG and pathology report but that was still not accepted by American doctors. As it stands, her only option is to move to Honduras for treatment due to the affordability of treatment there. It is heartbreaking that, as an American citizen, this is her only option. Kim plans to leave for Honduras in just a few short weeks. 

Please help me help Kim! She deserves a chance to receive treatment. She has to quit her jobs, leave her apartment, and  hope for the best in another country for medical treatment. Please help me help Kim!
