The Harvest for Humanity team has identified deserving women in Haiti to receive the first ever Women In Technology Educational Scholarships. These donations will provide them with the opportunity to reach their dreams.

Big Goal: Finish University, Learn Computer Skills
Big Obstacle: No Access to Computers, No Way to Attend University
What Kimberlie Needs: Tuition, Computer Access and Lessons, English Lessons
Kimberlie Francois is a 17 year old student who lives with her mother, grandfather and 13 year old sister in a small two room home. Meals are cooked outside over an open fire.
Kimberlie lost her father and her grandmother in the earthquake. Her extended family of aunts and uncles have also perished over the years.
Kimberlie is the inspiration behind The WIT Network initiative.
When she met with Gail Mercer-MacKay last year, Kimberlie’s eyes lit up as she described her passion for attending school and especially her favorite subjects – math and science.
When Gail asked her if she enjoyed using the computer, Kimberlie’s face fell.
There are no computers at Kimberlie’s school. She has no access to technology.
She is working hard to learn English and dreams of a life when computer access and learning technology would be possible for her.
She also dreams of attending university one day.
Her big hope? To complete her education, graduate and find work that will enable her to support the tuition needs of other children in her community.
Kimberlie knows that education is the answer for Haiti.
