Kim O'Neil's Battle Against Cancer

Dear friends and family,

If there is one person who is able to make the world a better place with her smile and genuine kindness, it would be Kim O'Neil. If you have ever been to Fowler Kennedy as an athlete or the unlucky recipient of an injury, then you have likely met her. She is the heart and soul of the clinic, and has been for over 20 years. She most likely pushed you to your limits, humbled your physical ego, and then made you feel like you could conquer the world again. From professional athletes to your everyday person, Kim has the gift of making you feel special and always putting a smile on your face, plus or minus some sweat drops.

Kim has always had the heart to lend a hand to anyone in need, but now is the time where she could really use our help as she has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. She has been silently struggling with it for months until the pain became unbearable. In typical Kim fashion, she tried her best to continue to work because she could not bear to let down those around her, especially her patients. Unfortunately, she has recently had to step away for surgery and treatment for an undisclosed time frame. Our hearts and prayers go out to her, but we also hope to practically care for the heavy financial burdens she will have in the months ahead.

That is why we started this fundraiser. Cancer doesn't discriminate, it targets anyone no matter how wonderful they are. The stress of the unknown and constant battle to find answers would take a toll on anyone. The day to day livelihood becomes daunting and it is hard to see the light through the darkness at times. But we can help. Financial stress is just one of the many things that add to her already full plate. We want to help lift some of this burden by providing a fundraiser that will help with the day to day expenses in addition to the time Kim has to take off work. This will not cure her cancer, but at least it will ease her mind with one less thing to worry about so she can focus all her attention on restoring her health. We know Kim has the fighting spirit to beat cancer with her grit and unbreakable smile, but a fighter never fights alone, there is strength in numbers.
